An Tobar Nua Counselling Service is a charity based counselling service in the heart of Galway City. Our aim is to make counselling accessible and available within the community by removing the barrier of costly therapy. We aim to support and assist people in overcoming life’s challenges as they move towards healing and positive change. An Tobar Nua Counselling Service’s qualified counsellors offer professional, confidential and non-judgmental one to one counselling to adults (18+).
Our counsellors are trained in an integrative therapeutic model that incorporates Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Our counsellors are trained to Irish national standards of practice under the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy as well as the Irish Association of Christian Counsellors and their codes of ethics. In the ever growing and adapting field of mental health, our counsellors are committed to offering up-to-date and relevant therapy, and actively pursue ongoing educational training.
Our services combine sound psychological training within a Christian ethos. This means we view each person to be of great worth and value, with the potential to live life to the full – mind, body, and spirit. Counselling is available to all people from all backgrounds.
